About SSMUN 2024

Welcome to the 21st edition of San Silvestre International Model United Nations in-person conference.

Representing the entirety of the staff and secretariat present, we are ecstatic to bring this long-standing conference to life in 2024!

 

SSMUN 2024 is based on the Peruvian Model United Nations Procedure (which uses a hybrid UNA-USA process. For further details please check out our Rules of Procedure in our Delegate Affairs). This activity has grown larger and larger with each passing conference, and so has SanSilMUN to accommodate this growth. This year, we aim to bring delegates an enriching experience, bringing about the chance to tackle real-world issues through diplomacy, collaboration, and teamwork.

The continued success of this conference has been fuelled by the commitment and dedication of our entire staff, proving the importance of  teamwork and collaboration in surpassing all hurdles; especially through the continued sociopolitical struggles of our modern-world. Even though Model UN is only a simulation of real world politics, one day it shall be us who are fighting for the peace and prosperity of our people and our planet. Now, and into the future, it is imperative for us to be creative, creating effective solutions and proposals for the betterment of humanity as a whole.

In our fast developing world news travel fast, and not always truthfully. The logistics and crisis team at SSMUN will ensure that committees flow at their finest, providing breaking news that will keep delegates on their toes, letting them adapt to many impromptu situations. The learning experience SSMUN strives to provide will be through fun interventions by the crisis room or from the updates by the Press Corps, to make the simulations as real as possible. We hope above all that this edition of SSMUN shall be as successful as every edition before has shown themselves to be, and that as always, every delegate within has the opportunity to grow and flourish alongside it.
